Hello there. As is completely obvious with the bright header above, my name is Andrew Nickell. I'm a designer who focuses on web design- but also offers other services such as logo, and graphic design. I strive to create the best for my customers in the hopes that they achieve improved visibility, accessibility, and also an aesthetically pleasing home on the web.
My experiences with the web and design take me back around six years. It all started with in unsatisfiable thirst for creating things. This creative part of me showed itself in the growth of the internet- and I can truly claim that I love what I do. A website is my canvas and HTML/CSS my paintbrush. I created this site as a method of gaining the opportunity to do more of what I love. My perfectionist state of mind compels me to create the very best and most functional.
As Valerie Pettis once said, "Design is the search for a magical balance between business and art; art and craft; intuition and reason; concept and detail; playfulness and formality; client and designer; designer and printer; and printer and public." I search for this magical balance in every single aspect of my work, hopefully we can work together in this search, and create, together, a rich, powerful, usable, and effective design.
Hot off the press
Launch of this site. - This website has been a long time coming. It's always difficult to achieve something, no matter how hard you try, when life decides to flow the other way. Nevertheless, this site was made. I love design of every kind and this site has given the opportunity to do more of it.
This site (eventually) will grow to provide more help to beginning designers with tutorials, resources, and inspiration- and it will always remain my personal home on the internet. I invite everyone of you to share this experience with me as this site continues to grow, I would definitely love it. About the Current Design
This design was inspired by simple design elements used for generating readability, but primarily it was inspired by contrast. The distictive red and black/grey guides your eyes and enriches the design. Some older browser could have problems with the web fonts used for headers however, although it is mostly supported.
